Mosin Nagant / Balkan refurbed '42 Izhevsk 91/30
« Last post by racerguy00 on August 27, 2015, 03:37:47 pm »A friend of mine picked up this 91/30 about 12 years ago and I grabbed some pics while I visited the other day since it's a little different than most so called Balkan import 91/30s that I have seen. This one had a refurb that is somewhat similar to many M91s that you see from that area.
The stock is covered in a somewhat shiny lacquer type finish. I've had it on a similar 91/30, and have seen it quite a few times on M91s. It's hard, thick and doesn't dissolve in mineral spirits or acetone. There are a couple small stock stamps stamped through the finish. The crest is struck through, and the bolt appears to be Romanian. The rear sight leaf is in the white.
