I don't get the fascination for changing it. I like it the way it is and besides I am just too lazy to change any of them.  ::) ;D

I have a little to add to the sight discussion. I have a SCW 31 tula dragoon and it has a post and globe sight on it. With all this discussion on the sights it would seem to me that the original blade sight was maybe cannibalized for another newer rifle and they put the globe on the dragoon as a replacement. It has the same patina as the rifle and as far as I can tell it was like that when imported from spain.

I still have mine too. A 37 or 38 Izhevsk, I would have to look through them to remember.

Looking for/WTB / WTB m95 steyr stock
« on: February 06, 2014, 05:32:07 pm »
need a stock for a M95M. I would also accept a m95 long rifle stock or a m95 carbine stock. Also need a m24 mauser handguard or something close to that.

They must be all horded up. A Balkans found here let alone a dragoon Balkans is about 1 in 2 million. I did see a Balkans maybe 40 Izhevsk but it was from a  traveling gunshow. I have had to curtail the gunbroker for a bit so have not looked on there for fear of slip of the bid lol. Thanks for the link cause I have not seen one on the other forum that I can remember.

Sure looks more Spanish to me then Balkans. There are a bunch of different Spanish rods and one like this was identified somewhere but that was a long time ago and I will never remember that. I have Balkans rods for m91s and they don't look like this. well one Balkans lol. The handguard I believe to be a Spanish handguard. I am always open to different ideas for sure. How many Balkans dragoons are there out there? I am not sure I have heard of any. I know there are m91s and 91/30s though along with m44s and such.

description says sanded and varnished but it is hard to tell without it in hand. It was not sanded recently as it has an uneven spot on the joint it appears. If cheap enough maybe. Hard to say sanded on some of the older ones as they went through rough times and maybe a redo or 2.

Mosin Nagant / Re: mosin prototype or competing design?

That's exactly what I thought about the bolt, berdan looking. Nagant put out a rifle that was similar in 1887 also, It looks close to the 1889 except for the bolt. It had the same looking magazine though.

Rifle looks poly finished. If the klp is 200+ the poly is 150-. Break even maybe. I see it is up to 230 now.
