We were there the beginning of March, that's the only time I've been to that shop in person. Clayshooter spends time in the area occasionally and had been there before IIRC. Small world.
Been past it, always wanted to go in; but the wife is always in a hurry to get to Plainwell out to my sister's lake house. Next time we go I am stopping in there though. Now I know what they have, the wife ain't keeping me away.

Remind me, did we ever figure out which of the Balkan states can be attributed to using those barrel band shims?

Didn't yours hang above a smoke filled bar in a VFW hall for about 40 years though Dave? ;)

Plus, I was never saying all do or all should. I only mentioned that some supposedly do. I just find them interesting is all.

I put my nose to it and it smells like a rifle! I can't make out anything unique, but I guess that makes sense. I did feel a little weird smelling one of my guns though.
Just curious. Richard in NY and other Vietnam collectors have talked in the past that many of the bringbacks have a very distinct earthy smell to the wood from being burried underground in the jungle. Obviously not all of the bringbacks rifles have this smell, but many do; and it can be an identifying trait on ones that do. My rifles tend to smell like a cross between cosmoline and Rem Oil, but I don't own any Vietnam bring backs.

Cool! It has that bring back look to it. What does it smell like? (I know that sounds weird) I hear a lot of the Vietnam bringbacks have a unique smell to them.

That's one of the bigger RGUNS import stamps I have seen. My RGUNS import stamps are much smaller than that on my update Dragoon. Maybe they saved the small ones for the showroom?

Nice score!  Did they have anything else of interest?  (I assume no since we haven't seen the pics)

Oh, you bet your ass they do. Dave just does not want to post pictures on line. You need to call him to hear this story.
