Beretta Mod 96 Police Issue
« on: April 16, 2014, 09:24:40 pm »
Well, I thought I'd post a handgun here that has a special meaning to me. It's not a milsurp, but it is a duty pistol.
A completely normal looking Beretta 96 .40 cal, but one I'll cherish.

My father was a police officer, first as a patrolman in two small jurisdictions simultaneously, then as a Sgt. at one of them. He eventually became chief and retired a few years back. This Beretta was one of his service weapons, purchased the early 90s. He eventually moved up to a Para .45, and this pistol was handed down to the new Sgt. after he used it for many years. When he retired he had to turn in the .45, but the boro presented him with his old .40, and he recently gave it to me.

Although the tritium has completely dimmed and and she shows some bore wear after lots of practice rounds, she still shoots great.
